Malibu Beach Day Outfit Essentials for Your Summer 2022 Wardrobe!

It was a beautiful day in Malibu in summer outfit essentials for Summer 2022. Grab some cute beach outfit inspiration to add to your Summer wardrobe.

LOCATION: EL MATADOR, MALIBU 🌴

PHOTOGRAPHY: BRIAN BLOSS, bbloss.com/photo

It was a beautiful day at El Matador Beach, Malibu. I love the feeling of the beginning of Summer when the sun starts to get a little bit warmer and stays out a little bit longer. I love the feeling of fresh ocean air and natural ocean hair.

Summer clothing is my favorite type of clothing, just because it feels so carefree and truly reflects the southern California aesthetic. Your summer beach outfit can feel like resort wear with a few simple tweaks.

Paradise Cove Large Floppy. Shop it here.

I love large brim hats for long days spent at the beach. Large brim hats are perfect to pair with your favorite sunglasses and make you feel like Brigette Bardot. They are the ultimate sun protection since no umbrella is needed (literally). You can simply hide under the hat and fall asleep, listening to the ocean waves. Or let it fold naturally in half in the front while you’re walking for a relaxed look, or for when you need to drink a martini.

A medium sized straw hat is also perfect for a Malibu beach day outfit. A medium sized hat is like your everyday floppy hat and is still perfect to get some shade from the sun.

Coral Beach Straw Hat. Shop it here.

Shop the hats featured in this post:

I love hand woven bags for the beach. Hand woven bags are something special, because they usually only come out during vacation or summer time. My favorites are made of real straw and are hand woven in secluded beachy places such as Colombia or the little towns in Mexico. When you wear a hand woven beach bag it reminds you of the first breath of fresh air when you land at your destination.

Shop woven beach bags for Summer 2022:

Sarongs are another key item to add to your summer wardrobe. They come in so many colors and are so easy to wrap around your waist. They are classy, yet relaxed. Pair it with your favorite sandals for a beach day and switch it out with heels for a sunset dinner close by.

Shop summer sarongs for 2022:

Coral Beach Straw Hat. Shop it here.

You can’t forget a vibrant bikini. I love how many styles and cuts of bikinis are now available. Gone are the days of the usual triangle top and tie bottomsβ€”although those are all still cute. There are so many unique ways you can wrap bikini tops and wear one piece bikinis in bandage and unique cuts.

Shop trending bikinis of Summer 2022:

Paradise Cove Large Floppy. Shop it here.

More key items for your summer 2022 beach wardrobe:

Eventually the sun sets and the tide roles up, but there is always time to enjoy the beach again tomorrow. With so many beach essentials now in your wardrobe, you’ll be ready for a long day to spend in Malibu.

10 Places To Go in Los Angeles Over the Holiday Season!

What's going on in L.A. in December?

FA LA LA LA LOS ANGELES

FullSizeRender.jpg

10 Places to go in Los Angeles During Christmas time <3

1. Beverly Hills Hotel for dinner at The Polo Lounge

The Beverly Hills Hotel by Dorchester Collection is dressed for Christmas every year and even has its own β€œFestive Season.” It’s a must-see to visit this iconic Los Angeles hotel dressed in their signature Christmas trees, lights, wreaths, and garland. Their Polo Lounge even offers a four-course Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas Day brunch!

Festive Season at The Beverly Hills Hotel

2. Ice skating at β€œICE at Santa Monica”

The outdoor ice skating rink at β€œICE at Santa Monica” is super cute and lighted with gold stars, Christmas trees, and strings of Christmas lights. β€œICE at Santa Monica” even has a little hot chocolate stand outside by the rink. This rink is located in downtown Santa Monica near 3rd Street Promenade which has its own Christmas decorations, shopping, and restaurants. :)

ICE at Santa Monica

3. The Grove Beverly Hills for Christmas shopping

When The Grove in Beverly Hills gets decorated, I know it’s Christmas time. The Grove transforms into a Winter Wonderland and does not take its Christmas theme lightly during the holiday season in Los Angeles. Their decorations remind me of Disneyland, complete with a huge gingerbread house for Santa Claus, a huge beautiful Christmas tree, spontaneous Christmas events (like a LIVE Dancing with the Stars performance) on their outdoor stage (set up only during Christmastime for random Christmas shows), β€œsnowfall” and their signature trolley, decorated. Aside from the awesome Christmas decorations, The Grove also offers some of the best Christmas shopping in Los Angeles.

4. The Beverly Hilton Hotel for brunch

The Beverly Hilton Hotel is another iconic Los Angeles hotel that decorates during the Christmas season. The Beverly Hilton Hotel is known for hosting The Golden Globes, Grammy’s after-parties, among other events, so you can imagine their Christmas decorations are set to impress.

5. Strolling around the Venice Canals

Christmas in LA is also not complete without walking around the historic Venice Canals during the Christmas season. The Venice canal bridges are decorated with festive Christmas garlands and the Christmas lights shine at night :) Abbott Kinney Blvd. is also close by which is great to do a little Christmas shopping afterward, or go to dinner. :)

6. Chinese Lantern Festival

The Chinese Lantern Festival happens once a year in L.A., and that’s during the holiday season. The outdoor Chinese Lantern Festival is held outside. Thousands of intricately made Chinese Lanterns are displayed, as well as food trucks, and hot coffee.

β€”> See my post β€œChinese Lantern Festival” from last year :)

Visit The Chinese Lantern Festival’s website here.

7. The Enchanted Forest of Light

The Enchanted Forest of Light is held outside in the historic Descanso Gardens of Los Angeles. Once a year the Descanso Gardens sets up a one-mile walk through their park, with glowing lanterns and sights, and interactive light-up experiences.

8. Sample sales around Los Angeles

This is one of my favorite things during December and January in Los Angeles. As various designers and brands clear the way and get ready for their Spring edition, they clear out the current Winter and (sometimes last Springs) wear. The sample sales are usually held in warehouses downtown, where you hunt through big brown boxes of beautiful clothing at a huge discount. Definitely go, and set aside some cash.

Schedules: CHICMI CALIFORNIA MARKET CENTER

9. Walk around downtown Beverly Hills and Rodeo Drive, then go to Beverly Hills BOLD Holidays #BOLDBH!

Downtown Beverly Hills and the iconic Rodeo Drive is also decorated every year during Christmas. Beverly Hills sets up a huge Christmas tree, a hanging Santa and reindeer, Christmas garlands, and more. It makes it so fun to have a latte and stroll around while Christmas shopping, or, just enjoying. Beverly Hills also hosts a BOLD Holidays in downtown Beverly Hills every Friday and Saturday with music, entertainment, and shopping.

Visit BOLD BEVERLY HILLS schedule here.

10. The Montage Hotel Laguna Beach for dinner or after-dinner drinks

The gorgeous Montage in Laguna Beach right on the ocean is decorated every year for Christmas. The set up a huge Christmas tree right by the ocean, and it’s truly unique and beautiful to see. The Montage Hotel in Laguna Beach has its own holiday season schedule and was ranked recently as one of the most beautiful hotels in the world to visit during Christmas. The shopping in downtown Laguna Beach is also decorated and fun to walk around and enjoy.

K-Beauty Skincare Shopping Finds in Koreatown, Los Angeles!

Korea is known for their beautiful, glass, baby faced skin and their β€œK-Beauty” skincare routine. I decided to hit up Koreatown in Los Angeles to go straight to the skincare source. It was sooo worth it! Here are the products I saw. the products I picked and where I went!

whatiskbeauty

What is K-Beauty?

β€œK-Beauty” is short for Korean Beauty and deserves its own category in the beauty and skincare industry. Korea is well known for its innovative beauty products and in-depth skincare routines.

They are also known for their beautiful, glass, baby faced skin. It might be partly due to genetics, but their dedication and knowledge of skincare and wellness may also have something to do with it!

To Korean’s, their 10-step skincare routine is as normal as brushing their teeth. Korean’s 10-step skincare routine includes:

  1. Oil cleanser

  2. Water-based foam cleanser

  3. Exfoliator (1-2x per week depending)

  4. Toner

  5. Essence for skin regeneration

  6. Serum

  7. Sheet mask

  8. Eye cream

  9. Sleeping mask

  10. SPF

And they do this every day. Usually, they are taught how to do a 10 step skincare routine when they learn how to brush their teeth. So, Koreans definitely know a thing or 2 about skincare, and their skin shows it!

I decided to hit up Koreatown in Los Angeles to go straight to the skincare source. It was sooo worth it.

The places I went skincare shopping in Koreatown are Palace Beauty, The Face Shop and Nature Republic. If you love skincare and beauty, shopping in Koreatown LA is definitely a thing to do.

At the very bottom of this post are posted the skincare products I picked.

wheretobuykoreanskincareonine

Aisles and aisles of sheet masks. At Palace Beauty, Koreatown, Los Angeles. (Inside the Galleria Mall)

There were sooo many different types of sheet masks, including shea butter sheet masks, bamboo sheet masks, egg white sheet masks, collagen sheet masks, green tea sheet masks and other types of tea sheet masks, stem cell sheet masks, and soo many more. The price was $2 per sheet mask.

What is snail slime used for in skincare?

The slime left by snails contain ingredients such as glycoproteins, hyaluronic acid, and glycolic acid. These ingredients in the form of snail slime are said to penetrate the skin very well.

These facial and body massage rollers deliver gentle microcurrents to the skin for blood flow, toning, and anti-aging. The lady who helped me at Palace Beauty was nice enough to let me one. I did feel my facial muscles activated and slightly shocked. The larger rollers fit around your jawline, arms and legs! The smaller rollers fit around the under-eye area. This same product and brand is actually sold at Sephora.

THE PRODUCTS I PICKED! <3 <3 <3

  1. WINE EXFOLIATING PADS!

best of beauty los angeles

This is the first time I’ve seen wine and exfoliation together in one product. You use these exfoliating wine pads 1-2x per week after cleansing. These pads are great for gentle exfoliation and antiaging. Wine is known for the antiaging ingredient resveratrol.

Read my post Raiding Products in the Pharmacy in France and scroll to Caudalie products to learn more about the antiaging ingredient resveratrol.

Found it on Amazon!

2. OIL AMPOULE MIST WITH CAMELLIA OIL!

best beauty stores in los angeles

I was inspired to look for ampoule products in Koreatown after I watched a few of Korean beauty guru’s UNA BEAUTY CLOUD’s Youtube videos. Ampoule products are stronger and more concentrated than serums. Since this mist contains camellia oil in ampoule form, this means the camellia oil is more concentrated than a mist containing camellia oil that isn’t in ampoule form. Ampoules are used as intensive treatments, as needed, or 1-2 times a week.

UNA BEAUTY CLOUD mixes ampoule products with aloe vera and applies it to a cut sheet of unwoven cotton as an intensive hydrating eye mask, so I needed to do this, too.

Read my post β€œLaura Dern of β€˜Big Little Lies’ Shares Her Beauty Truths!” to learn more about the benefits of camellia oil!

3. PEPTIDE SHOT (AMPOULE)!

order korean skincare online

Since these are peptides in an ampoule, this means the peptides are more concentrated than a regular peptide serum. After I used this serum just one night, I noticed my complexion looked brighter and healthier the next morning compared to an expensive serum I just bought from my dermatologist!

Found it on Amazon!

4. SNAIL GALAC PERAL SHINING B.B. WHITENING AND ANTI-WRINKLE WITH SPF 50/PA+++ IN NO. 21!

korean skincare on amazon

This product was sitting outside of Palace Beauty on their SALE table full of products. I had to get this. I have never used snail in skincare before, and the slime of snail has natural hyaluronic acid, antioxidant activities, glycolic acid and glycoproteins. I also love how tinted sunscreen (with a high SPF!) is mixed with snail.

I already tried it, and I’m actually wearing it right now, and I love it. I’m so happy I got this. The formula has a consistency of a whipped foundation and it leaves my skin with a glassy look. If I choose to wear this during the day, I still wear my usual sunscreen underneath.

Snail Galac Pearl Shining B.B. Whitening and Anti-Wrinkle with SPF 50/ PA+++ in No. 21.

Found it on Amazon!

5. KOREAN SHEET MASKS!

things to do in koreatown los angeles

I chose a snail mask, ginseng mask, a Pearl Hydrating Essence Mask, and a soothing Cucumber mask.

I was on the look out for ginseng since UNA BEAUTY CLOUD mentions ginseng and an important antiaging ingredient in Korea. She also buys fresh ginseng and mixes it with honey in a jar, and then adds it to hot teas.

Since ginseng is a popular skincare ingredient in Korea, I needed to get a ginseng sheet mask while in Koreatown, and of course, a snail mask, too.

β€”Off to try out new skincare!

Below are 5 snakeskin thigh high boots outfit ideas.

whattowearwiththighhighboots.jpg

Outfit #1

Mid length skirt paired with thigh high boots.

Also, What colors go with snakeskin boots?

You don’t always have to wear black or white with snakeskin.

You can explore color with snakeskin. However, 1) Stick to one color and wear it head-to-toe, and 2) Try earth tones like dark green, dark camel, cream, or chamoisee.

Earth tones you can pair with snakeskin:

Outfit #4

Pair cargo pants with snakeskin boots. Again, you can stick with any earth tone for cargo or jean.

Many times people assume you can only wear skinny jeans or straight legged pant with thigh highs, but try mixing it up with cargos! Just keep the rest of the outfit simple.

Outfit #5

Classic flowy black skirt with thigh highs.

In order to keep your look classy, especially with thigh high snakeskin boots, try pairing your flowy skirt with a long sleeved top. In this case, a turtleneck :)

~The thigh high snakeskin boots~

Where did I shop for these over the knee snakeskin boots? I actually found these in a small boutique on Melrose Ave. They are not name brand or designer, but the quality has still held up well.

As long as you are comfortable and can walk easily!.. and the shape and material are on point, go for it.

Here are some thigh high snakeskin boots now available online:

Winne Harlow x Steve Madden boots

Stuart Weitzman Lesley boots

Day in the Life in L.A.: One Day/One Night in Los Angeles

Welcome to my blog post on suggestions of things to do if you have only one day in Los Angeles with family! The feel we were going for was relaxing, beautiful, stimulating, yet chic. #dayinthelife #dayinthelifeLA

Dukes, Malibu

Welcome to my blog post on suggestions of things to do if you have one day in Los Angeles! My grandmother and mom visited, so the feel we were going for was relaxing, beautiful, stimulating, yet chic. Below are the 3 places we went to for one beautiful day in L.A. Also, scroll down for the pics!

LA in-a-day itinerary:

β€”> The 3 Places: Duke’s Malibu, the Getty Villa, and the Beverly Hilton.

  1. Lunch at Duke’s Malibu in Malibu, overlooking the ocean.

Duke’s restaurant is right beside the ocean and right off the PCH highway. The booths right next to the window have beautiful views of the waves, and sometimes you can see dolphins. Duke’s has brunch on Sunday’s, outside seating, and a bar. It’s a great restaurant for families as well as friends. I ordered a cold brew coffee in a glass bottle and a vegetarian burger :) I loved it. Check out Duke’s in Malibu website here. Duke’s is also close by the Getty Villa, where we went after lunch.

  2. Museum day at The Getty Villa in Pacific Palisades.

Next, we went to The Getty Villa. The Getty Villa is a beautiful museum in itself and features ancient Greek and Roman art. It’s located in the Pacific Palisades overlooking the ocean. It is perfect for spending a day with friends or with family. The museum is free, but you need to make a reservation beforehand. Check out the Getty Villa website here.

  3. Check-in at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills.

After our day spent in Malbu at Duke’s and the Getty Villa, we headed for check-in at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, which is about an hour drive away from Malibu. The Beverly Hilton is known for its history in Hollywood, and hosts annual Grammy’s parties and the Golden Globes, and more. The Beverly Hilton has a restaurant by the pool, a bar, a modern spa with cryotherapy chambers, a beautiful pool, event spaces, and the rooms have beautiful views of Los Angeles. Check out the Beverly Hilton Hotel website here.

  4. Dinner at the Beverly Hilton outside by the pool.

Since the restaurant at the Beverly Hilton is already chic and fun, we had dinner outside by the pool. The food is amazing. I ordered a vegetarian pizza and had a velvet chocolate dessert. Sitting outside at the Beverly Hilton is also so relaxing, they have a fun old fashioned iconic bar that’s outside by the pool. The hotel gave me a to-go box for my pizza, which is super cute. Scroll all the way down for a pic of the pizza box <3

  5. Breakfast at the Beverly Hilton outside by the pool.

In the morning, we had breakfast by the pool of the Beverly Hilton again, since it’s so nice to sit outside there by the palm trees and pool and we were also looking for some relaxation to our one day Los Angeles trip. The Beverly Hilton provides enough fun to stay there and enjoy anyway. However, for the last part of the day for your one day/one night in LA and want to try somewhere different for breakfast, the Beverly Hilton is located near tons of restaurants in downtown Beverly Hills by Rodeo. It’s walking distance from the hotel if you like to take a half-mile walk, or, it is a very short drive.

  6. The end of a relaxing, beautiful, stimulating yet chic stay of one day /one-night stay in Los Angeles!

Also, check out my blog post Mother/Daughter Dinner Date on Sunset Boulevard for another β€œDay in the life in L.A." post.

Beach Day in Malibu

I found shade underneath a palm tree :)

losangelesblog

It’s now Summer in Los Angels and I love how warm it’s getting here! My favorite beaches in Los Angeles include Point Dume in Malibu, Paradise Cove in Malibu, and of course the left side of the Santa Monica Pier.

I love to go to Point Dume when I want to spend time on a more secluded and private beach in Malibu. I love how this beach is at the base of the Malibu cliffs. There are a few surfers out there and a few swimmers. Other than that, it’s just a few other people, the sand, the sun, the ocean, and beautiful Malibu,

I didn’t have an umbrella, so I found shade underneath a palm tree :)

Mother/Daughter Dinner Date on Sunset Boulevard

Rainbow latte, flourless chocolate cake, French onion soup on Sunset Boulevard.

Sunset Boulevard Dinner Date :)

I’m excited when my mom drives up and visits! We had only a few hours, so we went to dinner and after that we crossed the street to a cute cafe for an after dinner coffee.

First we enjoyed dinner at a French restaurant called Le Petit Four on Sunset Boulevard. It’s really nice to sit outside in wicker chairs, just like you’re in France! It’s like a France and Sunset Boulevard fusion. We both got French Onion Soup and I got a flourless chocolate cake which I loved :) The table right next to us ordered a chilled wine, placed on their table in a chilled bucket.

After that, we crossed the street to a cafe/restaurant called The Butcher, The Baker, The Cappuccino Maker. They have a large selection of different types of coffees, espressos, wines, and you can use almond milk in your latte…that’s how I like it :) I love this cafe has comfortable tables for people watching right on Sunset Boulevard. They also have a quiet courtyard with booths and beautiful trees to just relax, and a separate indoor cafe and separate restaurant room.

I ordered their rainbow latte with almond milk and my mom got an iced cappuccino to go. :)
